Exceptional Learners Supervisor
Heather O'Laughlin is the Exceptional Learners Supervisor in an urban school district. The role of Exceptional Learners Supervisor includes serving as a mentor to new special education teachers, supporting students with significant behavioral challenges, consulting with all schools at the building level regarding students with disabilities and/or behavior challenges, serving as a diagnostician on the school psychology team, providing consultation services to students with disabilities attending local private/parochial schools, serving on many district level committees including the Dyslexia Committee, MTSS Committee, and Results Driven Accountability Committee.  Her role also includes supervising and providing feedback/support to resource teachers. She works closely with community partners such as United Way in order to fund programming for children and families. Her passions include Exceptional Learners, Whole Child Teaching, Neuroscience, Trauma Informed Care, Behavior Analysis, Self-Regulation, Mindfulness, and Early Childhood.
